Nutley Windmill

1st October - walk to Nutley Windmill

It was a foul day with strong winds and rain so we broke with tradition and started at the pub at lunchtime hoping that the rain would pass on by the afternoon. The watering hole this time was the Foresters Arms at Fairwarp on the edge of the Ashdown Forest.

The log fire; good ale and a nice bar lunch meant we didn't notice the rain had stopped until 2-30 so we really only had time for a short "stroll" rather than a walk.

We parked up on the Nutley side of the forest and took a walk along a trail heading towards Nutley windmill. The main weather front had passed but it was still pretty glum ...

Rain squalls over the Ashdown forest.

After about a mile we reached Nutley windmill and whilst it was all shut up for the winter it did make a great photo opportunity.

After taking some photos we returned on a circular path back to the car. Not worth posting any stats as we only covered two miles.
